For the first time in eight years Sam Maguire is back home in The Kingdom.
Since last Sunday's All Ireland final victory over Galway, the cup has been on a whistle-stop tour with the Kerry team. From the emotional homecoming in Tralee in Killarney, along with a trip to Temple Street hospital to visit some young fans, it's been a hell of a week for Sam Maguire.
What better way to end it than to take a load off in the presence of two serial All Ireland winners and Kerry GAA icons Jack O'Connor and Mick O'Dwyer.
The touching image was posted on Twitter by the official Kerry GAA account along with the caption, "When Micko got a visit from his lifelong friends SAM & Jack #ThisIsKerry."
Sam of course is no stranger to Micko, with the 86-year winning the trophy many times over the years. As a player, Micko lifted Sam Maguire four times between 1959 and 1970.
However, it was as a manager that Micko and Sam became old pals. Between 1975-1989, O'Dwyer won eight All Ireland titles as manager of Kerry, reaching ten finals in twelve seasons.
O'Connor on the other hand is halfway to Mick's haul having picked up his fourth All Ireland title last weekend. Ending Kerry's eight year famine, O'Connor is now a bona fide Kerry legend in his own right.
Where Sam ends up next year is unknown. For now though, he'll surely be enjoying the company of his old buddies down in The Kingdom.
