Jack Le Brocq started from pole and led from start to finish in the final sprint around Hidden Valley Raceway to claim a second career win and the final jewel of the Darwin Triple Crown.

After setting the fastest time through two qualifying sessions earlier on Sunday, Le Brocq staved off a spirited challenge from front row competitor Andre Heimgartner to seal a winning finish in the Top End for Matt Stone Racing.

The 30-year-old and his team displayed a seamless strategy in the 35-lap sprint and successfully defended an undercut by earlier race winner Broc Feeney and Red Bull Ampol Racing.

“Matt and the team have done a great job all year especially in the Gen 3 program; they’ve put their heart and soul into it,” Le Brocq said.

“It’s cool to get a reward. It’s been coming.

“We’ve had the speed there … it’s great to convert it into race pace and get our first win for Matt Stone Racing.”

Le Brocq’s victory in a Chervolet Camaro at the season’s midpoint means all 15 races have been won by a new Gen 3 Chevy.

Ford are still chasing an elusive triumph in 2023.

With Le Brocq’s win, Matt Stone Racing joined Team 18 with their maiden Supercars victory from the weekend after Mark Winterbottom’s triumph on Saturday.

Nine different teams have now filled top-three placings in 2023, with seven drivers standing atop the podium.

Earlier on Sunday, Feeney and teammate Shane van Gisbergen claimed a Red Bull one-two in race 14.

Feeney started from pole and thwarted undercut attempts by Erebus Motorsport’s Will Brown and Heimgartner to prevail for his fourth victory of the season.

Opting to hold van Gisbergen out for longer and overcutting Heimgartner with 12 laps remaining put Red Bull on track for a dominant double.

Heimgartner finished third, with Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki and Brown rounding out the top five.

Feeney has now won four races in 2023 compared to championship leader Kostecki’s two, and only trails Kostecki by 91 points heading to Townsville for the series’ sixth event.

A steering arm issue in Sunday’s final race left Kostecki languishing in last place, with teammate Brown scoring sixth.
