Love Island's Jack Keating has admitted he was "in the the dog house" after claiming on TV that his famous dad was retiring.
While getting to know Gemma Owen, Casa Amor bombshell Jack, 23, said that his crooning dad Ronan Keating was hanging up the microphone.
After the episode aired, the Boyzone singer, 45, who was on tour at the time, insisted he was still working, while appearing on The One Show.
Jack, who didn't make it past Casa Amor, spoke about Ronan's reaction to his son's time on the popular dating show, admitting his mistake got him in trouble.
He told the Daily Star: "He was enjoying it and loving it and was proud of me beside the fact I said he was retired halfway through the show.
"He was pretty delighted with everything else that I said.
"But no he was not happy one bit that I said that he said he almost fell out of his chair when he first heard that.
"I was definitely in the dog house for a little bit when I first got back."
The TV star lives with his dad, step-mum Storm, his baby brother Cooper and sisters Missy and Coco.
In his poolside chat with Gemma, Jack bonded with the daughter of ex-footballer Michael Owen about the importance of family.
He said: "I'm very family orientated. It would be something I’d definitely look for in a girl. I’ve got a big crazy family back home."
Speaking on The One Show after Jack's first episode aired, Ronan said: "He did drop the line that I was retired, that I was shocked about!
"I nearly fell off me chair! What? I'm doing The One Show next week, I'm in York tonight!"
He then confirmed: "No I'm definitely not retired!"
The hit-maker also said the whole family missed Jack, and he had been an "absolute mess" watching the show.
Last month, Jack lifted the lid on his route to Love Island, revealing he applied after encouragement from his sister, and was not scouted.
He admitted Love Island bosses had approached his younger sister Missy, 21, to be on the show, only for her to turn it down.
"For the last two years they asked Missy. They scouted Missy to do the show and she’s been kind of like, 'Nah, it’s not really for me'," he recalled to Dublin Live.
"Then me and Missy I think had a couple of drinks and she was like: ‘Jack, why don’t you apply for it so I thought why not?’ It was never something I thought about doing before and I just thought why not."
He added: "I actually didn’t tell anyone, I didn’t tell my mum or my dad or anyone in my family. I didn’t tell anyone until pretty much when I got to go so I kept it as quiet as possible."
