Jack Hendry on radar of Ronaldo owned club as Scotland international 'frozen out' by Club Brugge

Scotland international Jack Hendry could be on his way to La Liga to join Ronaldo-owned side Real Valladolid.

The former Celtic stopper is on the newly promoted club's radar as they aim to secure him on a loan deal in time for their league opener against Villarreal this weekend. It comes as Hendry has been frozen out by Club Brugge after failing to feature in the side's squad for the opening games of the 2022/23 campaign.

The 27-year-old joined the Belgian champions in a £4.5million deal just last year. But boss Carl Hoefkens has since made it clear that the defender has no future with the Belgian side after insisting he had given every player at the club the chance to impress. Hendry has made 38 appearances across all competitions for the Belgian First Division outfit since arriving from KV Oostende last August. However, his time in Belgium could be cut short with a move to La Liga on the cards instead.

Brazilian legend Ronaldo retains a 51 per cent stake in the Real Valladolid. after buying the share in September 2018. The 45-year-old is also the clubs's president.

Last season, former Celtic flop Saidy Janko, who has just been loaned to Bochum from Valladolid, revealed how hands-on Ronaldo is.
He said: "Quite often we went to Ronaldo's house to play a little online gaming against the Juventus players Douglas Costa and Paulo Dybala.

"Once he just gave us all a Playstation 5 after a win. He's very sociable, and he'll have a coffee with you from time to time."

The Spanish side are not the only club the have reported interest in the defender. English Championship side Burnley have also been linked with new Clarets boss - who is in need of defensive enforcements - keen to bring players over from Belgian league.
