Jack Grealish's nickname off the pitch and side hobby that he is 'awful' at

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has earned a reputation for his exceptional dribbling and is regarded as one of the best wingers in the world.

But off the pitch, the 27-year-old is trying to make a name for himself in another field, after attempting to pick up a new skill.

Last year, the former Aston Villa player revealed that he is learning to DJ in his spare time, and has even given himself the moniker 'DJ Grealo'.

Though, he admits that he's actually not that great at it - in stark contrast to his form for City - but he'll keep trying to perfect the tricks of the trade.

In an interview with Josh Denzel for BT Sport in October, Grealish said: "I like every type of music. I'm trying to learn to DJ at the moment, DJ Grealo!

"I'm awful, but everything takes time. I'm trying to learn Spanish too with my Brummie accent!

"I want to learn some stuff away from football, have a hobby and stuff."

He added: "I watch a few things on TV but, when I think about it, I don't actually do a lot of stuff outside of football, so I want to learn to do some stuff.

"People say with DJing once you get the hang of it it's something you really enjoy. I don't know what my genre would be. Probably a bit of everything - 80s, House, R&B, Hip-Hop, 90s..."

Since he revealed his secret hobby, Grealish has made his DJ debut, alongside Dutch producer Oliver Heldens, through a metaverse performance.

In May this year, the footballer announced on Instagram that he would be performing a set for the first time, under his alias DJ Grealo, with Web3 platform OKX.

The cryptocurrency exchange platform has a partnership with Manchester City and users have access to special content from some club players.

"I've always loved music since I was young," Grealish said in a promotional clip. "This is why I wanted to start learning to DJ."

The former Hull City star went viral over the weekend for his part in Man City's treble celebrations, after they won the 2023 Champions League on Saturday.

Grealish appeared to enjoy one too many drinks over in Istanbul as he partied late into the night wearing his kit from the clash with Inter Milan.

That continued as City flew to Ibiza to continue their party before they then returned to the UK on Monday for their trophy parade in Manchester.

Grealish summed up his experience over the past few days with a short statement on stage. He said: "Basically for the past 24 hours, I've had the best day and night.

"To be fair, I don't think I've slept. I'm the turkey and the turkey needs feeding," before team-mate Kalvin Phillips poured vodka into his mouth.

Speaking after the Champions League victory over Inter, he added: "I was awful today. I don't care. To win the treble, with this group of players is so special.

"Anyone who knows me knows how much of a family person I am and how much I love football, and this is my whole life."
