Andy Farrell has released 14 players from his Six Nations squad back to their provinces for URC involvement this weekend.
Among that number are Connacht's Jack Carty and Cian Healy of Leinster, who were late replacements in Ireland's loss to France in Paris on Saturday.
There are no fixtures in the championship this weekend, and Farrell will reconvene with 23 players at Abbotstown for a two-day mini-camp from Thursday to prepare for the next game at home to Italy on Sunday week.
Among those at the IRFU's high performance centre will be Ulster hooker Rob Herring, who missed the opening two games of the championship with a calf injury.
With Ronan Kelleher, who was withdrawn in the first half of the Stade de France with a shoulder and replaced by Dan Sheehan, to undergo further examinations this week, it is a timely return for the experienced Herring.
Squad captain Johnny Sexton is continuing his rehab after suffering a hamstring injury in training last Wednesday and the IRFU state that the out-half will 'return to rugby programme this week'.
The other players released back to their provinces are, Dave Heffernan (Connacht), Ryan Baird and Jordan Larmour (Leinster), Craig Casey, Gavin Coombes, Dave Kilcoyne (Munster) and Robert Baloucoune, James Hume, Michael Lowry, Tom O’Toole, Nick Timoney, Kieran Treadwell (Ulster).
