Jack Butland 'wouldn't mind playing' for Rangers as ex-Ibrox star details what he has been hearing

Craig Moore has been told Jack Butland 'wouldn't mind playing for Rangers' as he bids to land more regular football.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper - who is currently on loan at Manchester United - is out of contract at the English Premier League side in a matter of weeks and it has been reported he is 'on the brink' of a move north of the border to kick off Michael Beale's huge summer revamp in Glasgow.

Kieran Dowell of Norwich City is said to have already had a medical and agreed terms on a deal while Morgan Whittaker has once again been linked after a deal couldn't be done in January. Goalkeeper is another key position for recruitment with current No1 Allan McGregor, now 41, out of contract in the summer and could hang up his gloves.

Butland was linked with Rangers 12 months ago, but the 30-year-old could now make that move as he bids to start playing as a regular first-choice one again. He's previously been capped nine times by England and has the likes of Birmingham City, Leeds United, Stoke City and Barnsley on his CV to date.

Former Rangers defender Moore has been told the Palace keeper is keen on the move with more minutes on the pitch a key factor in any decision. Speaking about the goalkeeper, he told The Go Radio Football Show: "I believe that he is someone that is of real interest to the football club, in terms of his ability.

"He is a goalkeeper that would love to be playing more. He has a huge presence and by all accounts wouldn't mind playing for Rangers. Again, that is just what I am hearing. Rangers definitely need a number one goalkeeper."
