Jack Butland 'wants' Rangers transfer but Man United loanee sets Ibrox non negotiable to join Michael Beale rebuild

Craig Moore has been told Jack Butland "wouldn't mind playing for Rangers" as the goalkeeper looks to ramp up his game time.

Michael Beale looks to be ramping up his summer plans behind the scenes at Ibrox after his hopes of lifting silverware this season were ended in the Scottish Cup semi-final by Celtic. Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell is set to move to the Scottish Premiership this summer after Beale's talks with the 25-year-old, and he could be followed north of the border by Butland.

The club are searching for a successor to Allan McGregor this summer who is out of contract and who could retire at the end campaign. They were linked with Butland a year ago but while a deal didn't come to fruition then, it seems it could well this time around the 30-year-old could provide an experienced solution to the Light Blues' potential headache.

Former Rangers star Moore has been told that Butland is keen on the move with more minutes on the pitch being key to any final decision before a free agent switch. When asked about the stopper on The Go Radio Football Show: "I believe that he is someone that is of real interest to the football club, in terms of his ability.

"He is a goalkeeper that would love to be playing more. He has a huge presence and by all accounts wouldn't mind playing for Rangers. Again, that is just what I am hearing. Rangers definitely need a number one goalkeeper."
