Jack Butland has been tipped as a potential Rangers 'option' to replace Allan McGregor.
The 41-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Michael Beale has hinted that he could be ready to hang up his gloves at the end of the campaign leaving a huge hole for the Ibrox gaffer to fill. The Light Blues legend has been a fans' favourite for many of years at the club and while his form may have dropped over the past few seasons, he still has the ability to pull off massive saves and has done so on numerous occasions during his time at the club.
Should he decide to call it a day, Rangers will be in the market to find a new goalkeeper and Barry Ferguson reckons his former team-mate could be a perfect fit. He's currently on loan at Manchester United from Crystal Palace but is out of contract come the summer. The ex-Ibrox skipper was on the books at Birmingham City as Butland was making his big breakthrough and he reckons his old club could do far worse than turn to him.

He knows Beale is facing a big task of replacing his close friend with Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie the other options currently on the books of the men from Govan.
He told Go Radio: "Top goalkeepers win you games, so it will be interesting to see over the next couple of months what actually happens with Allan McGregor.
"If Rangers are to sign a new goalkeeper, I remember it would cost a few quid, as good goalkeepers don't come out of contract. There has been one goalkeeper mentioned, Jack Butland, he was a young keeper when I was at Birmingham.
"He is out of contract in the summer and that could be an option in the summer. That might be an option for Rangers going forward."
