Ally McCoist has given Jack Butland to Rangers the big thumbs up.
Michael Beale is reportedly set to snap up the former England international on a free transfer from Crystal Palace as he gets his summer signing spree underway. The Scottish Sun claim the 30-year-old is on the brink of putting pen to paper at Ibrox with the Light Blues in the market for a replacement for club legend Allan McGregor.
The current Rangers No1, 41, is out of contract in the summer with Butland reportedly set to be handed the No1 jersey at Ibrox next season. Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie are both currently on the books but it appears the Manchester United loanee is the man who will take over the gloves in Govan.

Beale has already stated his desire to bring in at least five new faces in the summer window. Kieran Dowell at Norwich City is another name in the frame for a switch north of the border in what is set to be a busy summer. Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin kicked off the recruitment in January with a new look and own stamp being implemented by the new management.
Barry Ferguson has previously opened up on his former Birmingham City colleague and said he would be an 'option' for his former club and now fellow club legend McCoist has had his say on the potential goalkeeping arrival.
Asked on talkSPORT about the transfer news, the pundit said: "I'd take that all day. Greegsy [Allan McGregor] has been a phenomenal servant to the club. I don't know how Robby McCrorie is coming on but we definitely need a keep.
"I'm saying that although I haven't seen him [Butland] for a while. But if he's anything like he used to be I'd take him all day."
