Jack Black recently shared details about his hard rock rendition of Britney Spears’ hit song “Baby One More Time” at the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 4 in Los Angeles. Black, who stars as Po in the upcoming movie, collaborated with his friend and bandmate Kyle Gass from Tenacious D on the cover.
During the event, Black revealed that the director of the film approached him about creating a Tenacious D song for the end credits. Excited about the opportunity, Black suggested doing a cover of Britney Spears' iconic track. The director approved the idea, mentioning that the song's vibe aligned well with the Kung fu theme of the movie.
Black and Gass quickly worked on a Tenacious D version of the song, which will be featured during the end credits of the film. Additionally, they decided to film a music video on the red carpet, showcasing their performance of the cover.
In the video shared on TikTok, Black and Gass can be seen dancing in a living room to the electric guitar and vocals of the song. Black even displayed the word 'BABY' on his fist during the performance. The band's social media posts teased the release of the song, generating excitement among fans who speculated about its connection to Kung Fu Panda 4.
Kung Fu Panda 4 is set to hit theaters on March 8, offering fans the chance to enjoy the movie along with the unique Tenacious D cover of Britney Spears' classic hit.
