The Los Angeles Lakers are badly in need of wins in bunches right now, especially with LeBron James sidelined due to a right foot tendon injury that could keep him out until next month.
They have won five of their last eight games, but they’re coming off a disappointing 110-102 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in which they appeared to lack energy and intensity.
Los Angeles will face a stiff challenge on Sunday when it will host a Golden State Warriors team that will likely have Stephen Curry back in uniform.
After that, it will face the Memphis Grizzlies, but it will catch a break, as Ja Morant will not suit up for that contest.
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been suspended for at least two games.

Morant will sit for a little while after he posted an Instagram Live video that showed him gleefully toting a gun at a nightclub. This incident, along with a few others he’s been involved in, has raised some serious questions about his maturity.
The same night they host the Morant-less Grizzlies, the Lakers will retire Pau Gasol’s No. 16 jersey in what will surely be a very emotional ceremony for the two-time NBA champion.
