Oh man, Ja Morant. You jinxed it.
Back in December, Ja Morant told ESPN’s Malika Andrews that he wasn’t worried about the Memphis Grizzlies contending in the Western Conference with a casual, “I’m fine in the West.”
Heck, per SI.com, he doubled down on it in January.
Now? The Dallas Mavericks are better with Kyrie Irving. The Phoenix Suns are now a powerhouse again with Kevin Durant. Heck, the Los Angeles Lakers are improved! And who knows what else Western teams will do after this as the NBA trade deadline approaches?
So that’s why you’re seeing a lot of these tweets on Thursday:
This all because @JaMorant said he was good in the West 😂😂😂

JA Morant: “I’m fine in the West”
Dallas Mavericks: Trade for Kyrie Irving
Phoenix Suns: Trade for Kevin Durant
The West took that personally 🥴😳
