Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase heard Joe Burrow say he wants to spend his entire career with the team.
Chase echoed the same comments about continuing to play for the Bengals with Burrow and the offensive minds such as head coach Zac Taylor and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
Asked if he wants to stay, Chase said it was a need.
“I need to be here, too,” Chase said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Yeah, man. Keep this going. Try to get as many AFC championships as we can get. Make it to the Super Bowl as many times as possible. Me and him, we’re like bread and butter. As long as he’s got me and I’ve got him I should be here for a good time.”
Burrow is up for an extension this offseason and has recently said he wants to spend his entire career in Cincinnati. Mike Brown responded to those comments as one might expect.
The Bengals have some big contract extensions and free agents to take care of this offseason with their ample cap space besides getting Burrow’s extension done. But Chase’s extension, possible in 2024, is something the team will keep in mind while it makes moves this upcoming offseason.
As things stand now, the two biggest pieces of the current offensive nucleus have made it clear they don’t have any intentions of leaving.
