Ja’Marr Chase clarifies after comments create C.J. Stroud-Joe Burrow debate

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase scored a few times and was generally one of the stars of the show at the Pro Bowl over the weekend.

During the event, Chase made a comment directed at Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, jokingly saying something along the lines of how the rookie should want to play with the star wideout.

Social media caught on and chaos ensued, with fans wondering how that might be possible, considering Joe Burrow is already Chase’s quarterback.

It’s all a big non-story and fun in-game banter between superstars who linked up for a touchdown in an All-Star game, but Chase made sure to hit social media and clarify things anyway:

Chase is eligible for an extension with the Bengals this offseason and the team has made it abundantly clear that locking him down long-term is a priority.

Chase has said he wants to wait on the likes of Justin Jefferson and other names on the market to do a deal first, but there’s no reason to read further into this exchange.
