After Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off during training camp on Thursday with an apparent calf injury, fans began wondering what this could mean for the starting quarterback.
His teammate, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, gave some positive insight to Burrow’s condition, though. According to Chase, he thinks Burrow should be O.K.
“We always give each other that nod,” Chase said, via The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. “He gave me a nod he’s all right. He’s a strong dude.”
Chase added that even though he hadn’t seen Burrow yet, he isn’t starting to worry yet.
“I wasn’t really worried,” Chase said. “I believe he’s all right.”
Bengals coach Zac Taylor confirmed Burrow’s calf injury after practice, but was unable to provide further details on the severity when speaking with reporters.
Video of the injury was later posted by WCPO 9’s Caleb Noe, which shows Burrow appearing to roll out to his right and then begin limping before sitting on the ground. Some of his teammates checked on him before training staff attended to him on the field.
