Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal district attached the properties of six proclaimed offenders who are based in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), officials said.
The properties were attached in pursuance of an order passed by District Magistrate Ganderbal in terms of Sections 82, 83 of the CrPC.
The police said the properties belonged to six proclaimed offenders who went to Pakistan, or PoK, for training in illegal arms and were wanted in a case in Ganderbal.
“They were involved in case FIR No. 82/2009 EIMCO Act of Police Station Kangan,” a police statement said.
In total, over six kanals of agricultural land belonging to six proclaimed offenders were attached in Ganderbal on Wednesday in this case.
Police said the attached properties included an agricultural land measuring one kanal and one marla situated at revenue estate Kawcherwan Kangan belonging to proclaimed offender Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Kawcherwan Kangan.
The other properties attached included an agricultural land measuring 19.5 Marlas Estate Tangchatter in the name of proclaimed offender Mehraj ud Din Shah of Tangchatter Kangan.
Another agricultural land measuring one Kannal six Marlas Estate Akhal in the name of proclaimed offender Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Tangchatter Kangan was also attached.
Police said agricultural land measuring one Kanal nine Marlas Estate Tangchatter in the name of proclaimed offender Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Tangchatter Kangan was attached .
“Agricultural land measuring 1 Kanal 6 marlas and agricultural land measuring 1 Kanal 9 belonging to proclaimed offender Saif ud Din Shah Tangchatter were also attached,” police said. (UNI)
