Srinagar: A "hybrid" militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who was allegedly involved in the grenade lobbying incident that left two non local migrant labourers dead, was killed during a raid in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Police said Imran Bashir Ganaie, a "hybrid" militant- a term coined by police for the militants who slip back into normal lives and lack police records- was killed when a contact was established with militants during a raid based on his disclosure .

"Based on disclosure of arrested hybrid terrorist and in continuous raids by police and security forces, another contact has been established between terrorists and SFs (security forces) at Nowgam, Shopian, in which hybrid terrorist Imran Bashir Ganaie (was) killed by firing of another terrorist," police said in a tweet on Wednesday.
Police said incriminating material, including arms and ammunition, were seized from the encounter site.
"The search operation is still going on," police said.
Two non local migrant labourers Monish Kumar and Ram Sagar, both residents of Kanooj, Uttar Pradesh were killed in a grenade attack at Harmain in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The investigation by police revealed that the grenade at the accommodation of the labourers was thrown by Imran Ganie of Hermain Shopian, a hybrid militant of LeT.
Police said Imarn was promptly arrested.
Later his associate was also arrested. (UNI)
