A native of the sometimes-arctic Wisconsin, J.J. Watt understandably isn’t used to some of the creatures who usually call hot desert-like climates home. In just his second year in Arizona, it seems the Cardinals star is still learning about the potential natural dangers of the Sonoran Desert region.
The hard way.
On Saturday, on what Watt likely thought would be a regular ol’ weekend day, he found something apparently disturbing in his bathroom — A baby rattlesnake. Now, while baby rattlesnakes do not indeed release venom more than adults, according to the LA Times, Watt still thought it was, you know, a rattlesnake.
Given his inexperience with the potentially dangerous situation, Watt took to his Twitter to crowdsource for a potential solution:
Alright Arizona, this is a new one for me…
I’ve got a baby rattlesnake in my bathroom.
What do I do?

After some (probably) insufficient replies that more or less mostly amounted to variations of “kill it with fire/run away/check for nests/call a professional,” Watt wasn’t heard from for roughly the next four hours.
He returned with a hilarious conclusion to his jarring reptilian saga:

As it turns out, Watt said the “baby rattlesnake” wasn’t a poisonous reptile at all! When he made the responsible decision and called someone to handle a likely scared wild animal, that person picked the snake up with their bare hands and told Watt it was a “longnose snake, completely harmless” before leaving.
After the professional handled the nonvenomous longnose snake so calmly, Watt was stunned. He ended this little adventure with an appropriate, all-too-relatable thought regarding snakes: “You ever wanna feel like a wimp, that’s the way to do it.”
NFL fans found Watt's hilarious honesty with his "rattlesnake" encounter so relatable
