Ivory Coast host Egypt this afternoon in a heavyweight Africa Cup of Nations last-16 clash.
It was an incredibly impressive group-stage performance from Ivory Coast, who sealed top spot with a 3-1 victory over Algeria that sent the defending champions crashing out. Nicolas Pepe in particular has shone, seemingly far more confident with his country than when playing for Arsenal.
Egypt have been less convincing so far, but they progressed comfortably enough after finishing second in Group D behind Nigeria. They’ve only scored two goals all tournament though, and will likely need to be more threatening in attack if they are to cause Ivory Coast problems.
The winner will face Morocco in the quarter-finals, after they came from behind to beat Malawi 2-1.
