Ivan Toney was voted Brentford Fans' Footballer of the Year in a one-sided contest following his performances in the past 12 months.
Toney wasted no time in adapting to the Premier League following the Bees' promotion to the Championship last season and started 2022 strongly, scoring twice in January in back to back games and against Manchester United and Wolves in losing efforts before grabbing his first top-flight hat-trick against Norwich City in March.
The following game, Toney bagged a brace against Burnley and a further goal against West Ham United weeks later, taking his tally in the first-half of 2022 to eight goals in 17 games and a further three assists. The England striker also grabbed a goal in the FA Cup fourth round.

The latter stages of 2022, the first-half of the 2022/23 campaign, Toney once again hit the ground running scoring on the opening day of the season against Leicester City and then assisting two goals against Manchester United in a 4-0 win. A goal against Fulham meant the striker had four goal contributions in three games to start the season.
His form earned him an England call-up ahead of the World Cup but manager Gareth Southgate failed to play the striker for a single minute as the former Newcastle United forward failed to make the final 26-man squad that flew to Qatar.
Brentford's scalp over United and Toney's involvement in that match was bettered on the final game before the 2022 World Cup break. Against current league champions Man City, Toney scored twice including a 98th penalty winner to down City 2-1 away at the Etihad Stadium.
In total, Toney scored 18 goals and laid on a further six assists across all competitions for Brentford in 2022 and was the clear Fans' Footballer of the Year with 74% of votes, with goalkeeper David Raya in second place with 12%.
Across the Reach PLC football network, supporters have been voting for their Player of the Year from all clubs. Toney did not make the top 20 for that award, which was won by Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who won the 2021 award, was 2nd in the vote, with England Lionesses and Arsenal star Beth Mead finishing third.
