ITV4 The Chase viewers unhappy after contestant pronounces 'wrong' Scottish answer

Tonight saw another episode of The Chase return to our screens (August 2) and people, as always, were happy to sit down to see host Bradley Walsh and the Chaser.

As well as Bradley, we saw four people take to the studio stage in a bid to take home a cash prize - all dependant on their cash builders.

However tonight fans weren't as happy during the cash builder round after one contestant was not given a point for a "right" answer during Tuesday's show.

Working together to try and beat the Chaser were Jan, Phil, Ellie and Roddy who ended up competing against Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess, or to Bradley, Frosty Knickers.

It was however student Ellie who people were left feeling sorry for after a question about Scottish whisky. Up third, she bagged £3,000 in her cash builder round but this is where people started to question her points.

As reported by Liverpool Echo, some viewers at home argued it should have been £4,000 after she was told she got a question wrong but shouldn't have. Bradley asked her which Scottish whisky has the slogan "Famous for a reason"?

Ellie, who happened to be dressed in tartan, said: "Famous groose" however Bradley couldn't give her the point and replied: "No, Famous Grouse". Later, Ellie joked she had been doing the accent as her outfit had inspired her.

Taking to Twitter to defend the student from Brighton, one said: "Gotta deserve the point there surely", while another added: "Give her the point for famous groose! Loads of Scots up here say it".

Have your say in the comments below.

"Famous Groose, aye nae bother hen" said a third whilst a fourth tweeted: "Famous Grouse not allowed cos she pronounced it differently?".

A fifth said: "She got that right! Should get a bonus point for the accent".

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
