ITV1's Dancing On Ice eliminates third contestant in 'most emotional' skate-off ever

Dancing On Ice has eliminated its third celebrity contestant. Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and her partner Brendyn Hatfield have now left the competition following an emotional skate-off.

It comes following Michelle Heaton and her professional skate partner Łukasz Różyck's exit last week. The pair were eliminated after the skate-off was scrapped in favour of a public vote. You can see a full list of who has left Dancing On Ice so far here.

However, the skate-off returned for the third elimination with Ekin-Su and Brendyn and Patsy Palmer and Matt Evers finding themselves in the bottom two. The skate-off proved an emotional one, with both Ekin-Su and Patsy shedding tears after their performances.

"I think this is the most emotional skate-off we've ever had on Dancing On Ice," presenter Phillip Schofield said as he and co-host Holly Willoughby tried to offer support.

Holly and Phil then went to the judges who voted unanimously to save Patsy and Matt. "I didnt expect it to be this difficult so early on, but based on the skate-off, I've chosen to save Patsy and Matt," Ashley Banjo said.

Oti Mabuse then told both women they should be proud, before adding: "This is an incredibly difficult skate-off, based on just the skate-off, I'm going to save Patsy and Matt."

Jayne Torvill then told Ekin-Su and Patsy they had given their cleanest performances to date before choosing to save Patsy and Matt. "It was about the skating tonight and it was very close," Christopher Dean said before Holly and Phil announced it was a clean sweep. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
