ITV viewers pointed out two big issues with The Games as it made its debut on ITV tonight.
Fans tuning into the new ITV show saw 12 contestants - ex-Strictly pro and leading man Kevin Clifton, pop star Max George, song writer Chelcee Grimes, model and autism ambassador Christine McGuinness, Coronation Street actor Colson Smith, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, musician and TV star Wes Nelson, Emmerdale actor Rebecca Sarker, actor Ryan Thomas, Love Island's Olivia Attwood, Harry Potter's Josh Herdman and Phoenix Brown - take on a number of sporting challenges.
However, fans tuning into the show were left confused if the show was live or not - as Holly Willoughby opened the show by revealing they would be broadcasting live throughout the night.
Viewers, though, were left puzzled that only two of the events were actually live on the night whilst the others were pre-recorded.
"The live crowd must of had a great night on #thegames two events!!!" one wrote, whilst another added: "Won't be watching live again. Without the pointless chat and ad breaks will get it watched in 20 minutes! #TheGames."
A third shared online: "The poor audience at the Games, sitting in the cold with an hour between live events, is the ice cream van there tonight? #TheGames."
Another fan's scathing review added: "Massive editing issues on #TheGames. Way too much chat. I assumed the events were live but a 3 & a half minute edited fly-through of the men’s hammer? Show us the games."
Others found it difficult to listen to all the studio talk, with one fan penning on Twitter : " #TheGames too much studio talk, I want to see the games not people talking about the games."
"90% talk show, 10% actual sport #TheGames," a second added, whilst a third shared: "Seen just 1 race - are we gonna see some actual games at The Games? or just bore fest studio talk. #TheGames "
However, others loved the new format and were looking forward to the show returning tomorrow evening for another special.
There was heartache at the end of the episode when Max George suffered an injury during the live 400m race, putting his place in the show in jeopardy, as hosts Holly and Freddie insisted they'd give an update on him tomorrow.
