ITV Tipping Point fans emotional after player's response to Ben Shephard

Tipping Point fans reminisced after a contestant answered his question on Wednesday's episode.

Ben Shephard welcomed four new players for this week's third instalment of the popular ITV gameshow.

Cath, Scott, Megan and Dave were competing against one another to see if they could win the £10,000 jackpot.

It was Scott and Dave who made it to the third round, where an answer to a question had some viewers casting their minds back to an emotional time.

Ben asked Dave: "What is the name of the popular handheld digital toy pet first released by Bandai in the late 1990s?"

He initially hesitated, saying the answer was "whizzing around in his head".

When he seemed to find the right word, he agreed to play the question, and answered: "Is it Tamagotchi?".

He had the right answer, and viewers took to Twitter to share their memories - with some seeming quite emotional.

Sharing a crying gif, Tashalou89x said: "I lost my Tamagotchi in a freezer in Sainsburys when I was like 12 still makes me mad, kept it alive for months"

Lindi Greeve said: "Omg memories. I loved my tamagotchi [sad-face emojis]"

Georgia Bowring said: "Omg I had one of them and had no idea how to use it"

Steph Netherway said: "No I was sooo disappointed when my tamagotchi died."

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV Hub
