ITV Tipping Point changes rules as contestant brings her mum on to show

Tipping Point made some changes to the rules for one player tonight.

Ben Shepherd welcomed three new players to the ITV quiz show. Eleanor, Lisa and Andy all fancied their chances at testing their wit and playing the machine with hopes of heading home with a cash prize.

But, one player, Lisa, brought her mum, Karen, onto the show with her. At the start of the show Ben explained that Lisa was visually impaired and her mum was there to help advise her on her counter placement. Her mum could not help to answer any questions correctly.

Lisa's mum sat backstage with an adjudicator sat next to her to ensure that there was no cheating going on. She communicated to her daughter via an earpiece.

Fans on Twitter loved the changes. Some praised the show for being inclusive and said it was "brilliant."

Mostar said: "How good is it to see a visually impaired contestant on #tippingpoint. Good teamwork with Mum and Ben is good with describing the fall and placement."

Joanne said: "OK, so I propose everyone should be allowed to bring their mum with them on #TippingPoint" Mike said: "There is a blind person on #tippingpoint and it’s absolutely brilliant #equality #enablenotdisable"

Tipping Point airs weekdays from 4pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
