This Morning viewers were quick to call out Holly Willoughby's 'snobby' behaviour after she and co-host Phillip Schofield tested perfumed. The pair were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show when they were joined by Sarah Jossel.
The beauty expert, who is the beauty director at The Sunday Times' Style magazine, regularly appears on the popular programme with her latest product finds, tips and tricks. On Wednesday (November 2), she was on hand to show Holly and Phillip a bunch of high-street fragrances under £30.
The trio wasted no time in getting stuck into chatting about and smelling the perfumes Sarah had pulled together. But Holly’s reaction to a £1 perfume caused some viewers to comment.
Getting to the most inexpensive scent of the bunch, Holly remarked: "charge me up," as she struggled to detect the scent on her fragrance strip. Holly did, however, wonder whether she might have been struggling to pick up the fragrance due to the previous perfume she sniffed being quite strong,
However, as Sarah lifted the bottle as if to spray Holly herself with the cheap scent, Holly was quick to decline. "No thank you," the mum-of-three said. But she then defended herself a moment later as she went on to explain: "Because I’m wearing perfume, I can confirm – not because I’m being rude."
She also added of the fragrance: "It is quite fun to spritz and spritz, but there is not an intensity there." But her comment still didn't stop This Morning viewers flocking to social media to complain about the star's actions.
@JULES231068 complained: "Holly sneering at the cheap perfume, such a snob. #thismorning." @thismorning echoed: "Holly such a snob… didn’t want cheap perfume sprayed on her."
Just last week, Holly announced the release of her next fragrance. The brand new product is being launched into her Wylde Moon boutique. Wylde Moon is Holly's lifestyle website which she launched last year which explores topics from "beauty and fashion to energy and healing" but also features its own boutique where Holly has launched perfumes, candles, diffusers, and even a sparkling 12-piece jewellery collection alongside Kirstie Le Marque.
To mark the new release, the 41-year-old shared a sweet throwback photo from the eighties with her lookalike sister. Holly shared the photo of herself and her older sister, Kelly, from 1985 which showed the siblings donning matching white dresses with identical brunette locks as they made their way into a box while surrounded by Christmas decorations and presents.
"It’s chriiiiiistmaaaaas!!!! (Nearly)," Holly started her post to her eight million followers. She went on: "Nothing takes you back in time quite like a smell does, and these new @wyldemoon wax melts bring me straight back to the Christmas tree in 1985 with my sister Kelly... yep that really is us… The smell of fresh pine, clove-studded oranges… gorgeous! I hope you love these as much as I do. #ad #ownbrand Shop over at the @wyldemoon boutique."
