This Morning viewers were left with the same thoughts as Sam Ryder caused a bit of chaos on the show. The singer, who gave the UK something to smile about earlier this year when he came second in the Eurovision Song Contest, was on the ITV daytime show on Thursday (December 15) to promote his album.
Sam appeared live in the studio to chat to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary his debut album, There’s Nothing But Space, Man!, which is an obvious play on his almost-winning Eurovision track, Space Man. And the 33-year-old is rocketing toward his first number one album.
The Essex-born star, who gave the UK its best Eurovision result for more than 20 years as he missed out on the top spot to Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra, peaked at number two in the Official Singles Chart with his uplifting pop song Space Man, but he may finally clinch first place following the release of his debut record.

His album, released on December 9, is currently out-selling his nearest competition by US singer SZA by almost two to one at the midweek stage, according to the Official Charts Company earlier this week. So Sam was keen to implore This Morning viewers do buy his album and get him over the line to the top spot.
While speaking to Alison and Dermot, he directly told fans at home:"'If you've enjoyed anything this year you can get behind us,' he urged viewers. 'We're currently number one but we're not sitting on a couch, comfortable at number one. There's a race going on. We can do this. We need your support. This is our shot, please help us out..."
He added: "Grab this record before midnight tonight, download it on Amazon or iTunes. Let's make this happen." However, after plugging the album by even holding up a vinyl version for all to see, it became clear he may have made a mistake in advertising his race for Christmas Number 1.
Former X Factor host Dermot, 49. joked: "I'm sure we've just broken like 20 rules by doing that," as Sam replied: "Yes, we have, we absolutely have." Putting his hands up to his throat, Sam joked: "I can see people going like this..."
But his apparent rule break didn't phase fans who were flocking to social media with compliments for Sam. @umbrellacafe tweeted: "The fact Sam ryder goes on TV in a baggy jumper and jeans makes me want to buy his album. He's seems such a nice guy #ThisMorning."
@BenjaB**ch said:" God love Sam Ryder! He is like the nicest man ever! Get him to Number 1 with his new album! #ThisMorning." @Mofoman360 commented: "So glad for Sam Ryder and his success he really is a gentleman and a genuinely lovely guy hope he gets number one what a humble guy #ThisMorning." @craggsy82 shared: "Sam has, undoubtedly, a superb voice but more importantly, he comes across as a great person. Delighted for his success #Thismorning."
@DOPreston wrote: "I honestly think we should have a daily national address by Sam Ryder rather than Breakfast Tv. We’d all be skipping to work and smiling from ear to ear. What a joyous guy! #ThisMorning." And defending Sam against some negative comments, @JohnKeeno added: "Lots of Twitter users triggered by Sam Ryders positivity and optimism I see. How sad. #ThisMorning."
