ITV This Morning viewers say the same thing as Miriam Margolyes apologises for swearing while trying to censor herself on show

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield waited with bated breath as they welcomed Miriam Margolyes back onto This Morning. The pair were joined live in the studio by the actress during Monday's edition of the ITV daytime programme.

The hosting duo were teasing her return throughout the show, with Phillip admitting Miriam was one of his "favourite guests" as viewers have come to know she can be loose-lipped. It was soon time for the 81-year-old to join Holly and Phillip on the famous sofa to talk about her new book, This Much is True.

During the interview, Miriam recalled how she struggled with her peers while studying at the University of Cambridge. As she was speaking about experiencing misogyny she admitted to the presenters she was trying very hard to only use appropriate language while sharing her story.

As she looked rather sheepish, the former Harry Potter star joked: "Oh, I have to watch myself, to which Holly, 41, told her she was "doing really well" not to let out any naughty words during their chat. However, Phillip cheekily said: "It's such a shame as we love it when you just let rip."

And he may have tempted fate. Miriam replied: "I know, but it upsets some people and I don't want to upset people," but as the hosting duo again reassured her, she then accidentally swore, adding: "The whole thing is s**t at the moment, it's terrible, it really is."

Holly and Phillip, 60, turned their heads midway through her sentence to apologise for the swearing which had initially passed Miriam by. Realising what she said, Miriam commented: "Oh I am sorry, I've let myself down."

As they all laughed, Phillip chuckled: "Amazingly, you did it while you were apologising," before Miriam explained she "just wanted to make people happy" and did not mean to offend viewers.

But This Morning fans were all left making the same comment as they flocked to social media to share their thoughts. @samuelssquared tweeted: "Life is s**t at the moment.....oooh... Miriam Margolis is just bloody brilliant!! #thismorning." @SandieJ3 echoed "Miriam Margolyes is just BRILLIANT. End of tweet. #ThisMorning #MiriamMargolyes."

@ellmoye said: "Miriam Margolyes is a national treasure. That is all #thismorning." @gepowell_ agreed: "Miriam Margolyes is a legend and such a national treasure #thismorning." @heyitspoppymae added: "In stitches at Miriam Margolyes on #ThisMorning, what a brilliant woman."
