This Morning viewers were left feeling a bit sorry for Paris Hilton as she continued her string of TV and radio appearances as she promotes her new book. Fresh from her appearance on The One Show on Thursday night, the famous heiress joined Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary live on the ITV daytime show.
She appeared with the hosting duo on the famous sofa to chat about the release of her tell-all autobiography Paris: The Memoir as well as becoming a first-time mum to her son, Phoenix.
"He is my world," the Simple Life star said of her baby boy who she recently welcomed with husband Carter Reum via surrogate. "He is just such a little angel and I’m so obsessed with him and I can’t wait to get home to him," she added. "It was his two-month birthday yesterday. I sing him ‘Stars Are Blind’ , an acoustic version!"
Moving on to talk about her book, Paris was asked what made her put pen to paper and tell her story now to which she admitted: "It all started with my documentary when I started being vulnerable and real and I just started going into things in my life that were really difficult, and I thought it was about time. The media have really controlled my narrative for two decades and now it was time to tell the truth."
And when Alison mentioned how she sounds differently now and questioned if this is the real Paris viewers are seeing, she said: "This is my real voice, that was just a character I was playing." The question came as viewers at home also questioned how Paris sounded.
@FlopsyPickle tweeted: "Paris is using a very different voice to the one she put on last night, or maybe today is the fake one #ThisMorning." @Juani983 commented: "Can Paris choose which version of herself she is today. The voice switching is doing my nut. #ThisMorning."
However, the comments from viewers came in a moment before she chatted to Alison and Dermot as Paris was roped into playing a key role in the live broadcast. Josie Gibson had been once again sent out to a viewer's home for a game of Dosh on Your Doorstep.
And the show thought it'd be a good idea to get Paris to be the one to make the call to the viewers who was in with a chance of winning £1,000. As the viewer picked up the phone, Paris answered and said: "Hey, it's Paris Hilton," before referring to Josie as a "strange woman".
"Can you look out your window right now?" she asked the viewer on the other end of the phone, while Josie could be seen running down the street via video link. "Paris then added: "Do you see a strange woman running towards your door?" Alison giggled and then added: "With a rainbow over her head," before Dermot chimed in: "With a troop of Irish dancers."
And as she got involved in the segment, This Morning viewers were commenting on social media. @KevinessW tweeted: "Poor Paris Hilton #ThisMorning." @Mabel_Mouse_ said: "Paris Hilton must wonder what on earth her agent has signed her up for #ThisMorning." @Crazier added: "#ThisMorning I have no words."
