Carol Vorderman has left This Morning viewers divided once again as she spoke about her 'special friends' on the show. The 62-year-old appeared live on the ITV daytime programme on Monday (January 23) to chat about her approach to romance after previously slipping into a conversation that she is seeing give different men.
She opened up about her own love life previously on the show after answering a caller’s questions about casual dating. Carol shared how concerns around casual dating were a "nonsense taboo that should be broken" and said at the time that she had "never felt freer" and had stopped looking for "one person".
Then, during a recent appearance on Michelle Visage’s podcast, Rule Breakers, Carol was asked if she was currently in a relationship, to which the former Countdown star quite simply replied: "No!" She then continued: “I’m having the best time. I’ve spoken about this once. I have a system which I’ve had for 10 years. They’re called ‘special friends.'"

The TV star then went on to explain that she's been in 'long-term relationships if you like' with her special friends as she has been dating some of them for many years. "One's 11 years, one's seven years, you know everyone is single," she shared. "It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one-night stands," Carol said.
She has now been invited again to speak about her approach to love on This Morning where she was quizzed by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, mainly about the logistics, of her multiple 'special friends'. “It’s come about naturally and I don’t want to settle with anyone," she told the hosts. "Everyone is single."
While Phillip pointed out her previous clarification that she 'doesn't do one night stands,' Carol added: "It starts with friendship and there is an extra frisson." Holly, meanwhile, wanted to know if she ever gets jealous, but Carol said: "They have their lives as well, I never ask about that."
She also shared that she just has one rule, which she said is to "do no harm" and added: "Everything else... [is okay]." But This Morning viewers were a little surprised by what they were hearing.
@FlopsyPickle tweeted: "I mean good for Carol, if she’s happy then who cares what she does. However, why do we need to know about it? Also calling them special friends’ gives me the ick #ThisMorning." @DavidMackayy said: "Do we really need to hear about Carol’s sex life #thismorning." @Rhianlovesbooks wrote: "Carol's sex life again! #ThisMorning."
@Mabel_Mouse_ posted: "None of us need to know about Carol Vorderman’s sex life. Some things should be left unsaid. #ThisMorning." But @Mofoman360 shared: "I applaud Carol Vordermans honesty and everyone should be free to have a love life that is comfortable for themselves well done Carol #ThisMorning." @sket768654571 added: "#ThisMorning people live happily in open relationships and if all sides are happy i don’t see the issue."
