ITV This Morning viewers fume over Gino D'Acampo's addition to recipe as he returns to show after causing chaos

This Morning viewers have shared their anger after Gino D'Acampo returned to the show. The Italian chef was back in the kitchen to whip up another delicious meal on the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (October 4).

It comes after Gino returned to the show in person last week for the first time since going on his summer break which saw him jet back home to sunny Sardinia. Last Thursday, Gino took over' This Morning from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, and quite frankly, it was chaos.

Sat on the famous sofa, he opened the show by saying: "Hello and welcome to This Morning. Yes, today is going to be a Gino special. It's going to be all about me because finally I've taken over the show." He had banished the show's usual hosts into the kitchen before they were finally able to get on with their presenting job.

However, he continued to pop up throughout the programme, including during the daily 'This Morning's View' segment where Holly, Phillip, and two guests discuss the latest news headlines, fashion with Gok Wan and he even fronted the show's phone-up.

But on Tuesday it was back to some kind of normality as Gino simply appeared in the kitchen where he made a creamy chipolata and mascarpone pasta. However, he did ruffle viewers' feathers by adding white truffle to his dish.

During the segment, Gino insisted it needed the truffle and it's what he would use at home. He even said it was his son's idea to ask the ITV show to include the luxury addition to the recipe, and joked it would be taken out of the hosts' pay packet.

However, when Holly and Phillip got sight of the truffle, Gino joked that he was taking it home as he wanted it for his food for boy's night. But This Morning viewers were left 'furious' by the latest cooking segment.

@MiloMoomin pleaded: "#ThisMorning for goodness sake, please use your cooking slot to produce healthy meals on a budget which I’m sure your viewers are crying out for. It’s not rocket science. Gino’s recipe with truffle was just insulting #Furious."

@MarcusHanza tweeted: "#ThisMorning once again smashing relations with its average viewer - who are all buying essential truffle as part of the weekly shop." @stockportvoter asked: "A pasta dish with £150 white truffle. Who exactly is your target audience #ThisMorning?" @Leigh_Cartlidge complained: "A #CostOfLivingCrisis and @thismorning is cooking with Truffle costing £100/£150. Seriously? #OutOfTouch You poor people can use essence or extract! #ThisMorning."

However, earlier in the programme Gino did reference the cost as he teased his cooking item. "I'm Gino D'Acampo and I'm going to show you how to prepare a beautiful plate of pasta with chipolatas, pancetta, and courgette. This is great because everyone keeps going on that food is getting more expensive, which I agree.

"So learn how to cook pasta because that's a great way to save money and feed a big family." He then added: "I'm also going to put a little bit of white truffle on top of the pasta which is extremely expensive. You're probably thinking, 'You've just said you'll do something to save money,' but the reason I put white truffle is because I can."

Holly then chimed in: "It was going so well and then it all went horribly wrong." She added: "We'll see you in a bit Gino," before swiftly moving on.
