This Morning viewers were thrilled to see Ruth Langsford back on screen on Monday (August 22) as the presenter made her much anticipated return to the ITV programme. The 62-year-old hosted the popular TV show every Friday for 15 years with her husband Eamonn Holmes, but hasn't been seen on the show since October 2021 after her partner quit to host GB news.
The regular Loose Women panellist has now returned to her former role for the first time since last year. The presenter appeared on the show today alongside Rylan Clark, who she named her 'TV son.
It's the first time the pair have been on-screen together for quite a while after former X-Factor contestant Rylan also stopped presenting on the show. The duo are stepping in to cover Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield whist they take their extended summer break.

Ruth and Rylan took over from Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters who were at the helm of the breakfast programme last week.
Starting the show, Rylan exclaimed: "Good morning," as Ruth echoed: "Morning."
Ruth then said "We're back," before adding: "Reunited."
Turning to her co-host, the 62-year-old said: "It's lovely to be here, it has been a while since we have done this."
Since the pair were reunited on screen today, This Morning viewers took to Twitter to share their praise.
@DavidMackayy wrote: "Ruth and Rylan are presenting #thismorning, all is right with the world."
@mikepriestley13 said: "I think Ruth and rylan are a good presenting combination," as @chaym2 added: "Loving Ruth and Rylan."
@emmalou33835882 tweeted: "Lovely to have Rylan and Ruth on this morning I’ve enjoyed this summer with the different hosts."
@TVprattle added: "10 minutes in, what a difference Ruth and Rylan make. Engaging news review. Why aren't they presenting more often?."
Ahead of her return, Ruth shared a compilation of clips from her previous appearances on This Morning alongside Rylan.
Announcing the news that the pair would be hosting the show this week, Ruth wrote: "Excited to be reunited with my TV son @rylan on @thismorning tomorrow….let the fun begin! Hope you can join us at 10.00 am on @itv."
Last week Rylan begged his fans for help after finding a snake in his house. The BBC Radio 2 host completely lost it as he discovered the slippery reptile in his plush Essex home.
On the show today, Ruth surprised Rylan by bringing a guest snake on the show to help him conquer his fear.
"Oh go away, what are you doing?" Rylan screamed as the snake was brought over to him.
But after a while he said: "It's the smaller ones I'm scared of. The bigger they are the better."
