ITV This Morning under fire over 'unbearable' Buckingham Palace coverage

This Morning came under fire from viewers as the show was broadcast live from Buckingham Palace.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield fronted today's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme. The first part of the episode was presented from the iconic London palace to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Ahead of the programme, Phil said he was honoured to present the show from the regal surroundings. He said: "What a privilege to get permission from Buckingham Palace for this special show.

"We are all really looking forward to getting a little more insight into the Queen’s life and family history, and although we have had quite a few royal moments on This Morning over the years, to be at her residence during her Platinum Jubilee year is pretty special.”

The two were joined by guests such as Gyles Brandreth and Gok Wan as they gave viewers an insight into life inside Buckingham Palace. They took viewers on a tour of the State Room, Bow room and Music room, but viewers following the show on Twitter thought the new location was "tone deaf".

Stephanie said: "Eurgh no, this is going to be unbearable today isn't it

Katie posted: "This Morning at Buckingham palace is infuriating. Look at everything they have, all that money, all those possessions - whilst the cost of living have the rest of us in crisis mode"

Valerie commented: "Totally tone deaf today."

Craig tweeted: "Absolutely tone deaf, the country is on its knees and they think it's a good idea to show people the inside of Buckingham palace"

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV & ITV Hub
