ITV This Morning thrown into chaos by Cheeky Girls' 'retro' blunder

This Morning was thrown into chaos as The Cheeky Girls almost missed their interview on today's show.

Wednesday's edition of the ITV flagship daytime programme was hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. The broadcasters were set to chat to the Romanian popstars, who shot to stardom with their rendition of the Cheeky Song on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

Gabriela and Monica Irimia didn't progress past the audition stage, but released the single the following year on the album Party Time. The sisters appeared on the show as they prepare to release a new single titled Lets Have Fun to commemorate two decades since their first TV appearance.

However, Holly and Phil were in hysterics when they revealed the sisters had mistakenly travelled to the old ITV studios. Phil said: "We hope they're going to be here because actually they're so retro, they went to the old studio on the South Bank.

"It's being pulled down so they will be covered in builders dust and God knows what." Holly added: "They're currently travelling across London trying to get here."

The Cheeky Girls eventually arrived for the interview and said they "couldn't believe" they arrived at the wrong studio.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
