ITV This Morning's Ruth Langsford has rare fashion miss as fans say dress looks like 'dressing gown'

Ruth Langsford seemed to hit all of the wrong notes with her fashion choice on Friday's edition of This Morning.

The 59-year-old was presenting the ITV flagship daytime TV show with husband Eamonn Holmes and decided to embrace autumnal colours with a red silk-style dress.

Unfortunately, viewers felt the outfit was 'unflattering' and took to Twitter to comment on the snake-print gown from Monsoon.

One, @chaseofgang said: "Why is Ruth wearing her dressing gown."

Another, @Crazier said: "Oh Ruth, that hideous dress is not flattering in the slightest...did you get Trinny to choose it for you?!"

Before adding: "It's shocking, it makes her look twice the size and twice her age!"

Viewers were left unimpressed with Ruth's dress (ITV)

A third, @Mikeh60882356 said: "Looks like my 90-year-old mum would wear."

The £99 dress fell flat with fans, but this is unusual for the mum-of-one who has her own range of fashion for sale on QVC.

At the moment, Ruth has a very popular faux leather biker jacket on offer for £79 with a variety of promising reviews.

One said: "I received my jacket yesterday it is perfect. I am a size 18 so ordered the 18, I found the fit to be true to size. I was worried that it would not fit after reading other reviews saying that it was a small fit with tight sleeves.

"I certainly did not find this problem. The faux leather is super soft, the lining is beautiful and I love the working zips. I would definitely recommend this lovely jacket."

*This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays and Sundays at 10:30am
