ITV This Morning's Rochelle Humes stuns Phillip Schofield into silence with age remark

Phillip Schofield is used to chatting away thanks to being a presenter for the best part of three decades.

But on Tuesday's episode of This Morning, the TV star was stunned into silence thanks to a remark from Rochelle Humes.

The pair were back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme with Holly Willoughby still away filming another show for the BBC.

At the start of today's show, the pair were teasing viewers with what they had to look forward to when Phillip shared his excitement about one of the show's guests.

80s pop duo Hue & Cry were set to appear on the This Morning sofa which triggered Phil to remember when he first met the band.

But it led to Rochelle reminding her co-presenter just how much younger she is than him.

Phillip, 59, recalled meeting brothers Pat Kane and Greg Kane in 1987 through one of his TV jobs at the time.

"I just went over and had a chat with the guys, and we reckon it might have been the last time I saw them was 1987, in the Going Live studio, which used to be just round the corner from here," the presenter explained.

"No way," Rochelle replied before hitting her co-star with a brutal fact: "Do you want me to tell you something really real?

"That was two years before I was born."

The former Saturday's singer added: "I didn't want to do it but I felt I had to!"

Phillip struggled to hide his disdain as Rochelle, who is 32, giggled.

Gok Wan, who was in the kitchen on today's show, fell onto the counter in hysterics.

Phillip did end up carrying on with the show without another age mention (ITV)

Phil left a long pause of silence before continuing on with the show without another mention of their age gap.

Taking to Twitter, viewer @schon74 said: "2 years before Rochelle was born [laughing emoji] that was a kick in the balls for scof #ThisMorning."

"'That was two years before I was born' Phil's face #ThisMorning," @Christopher_T42 also laughed.
