ITV This Morning's Phillip Schofield issues health update as he undergoes eye surgery

Phillip Schofield has issued a health update after he underwent eye surgery.

The This Morning host is currently enjoying a well deserved summer holiday from ITV's flagship daytime programme. However, he has revealed he has started off his break with a hospital visit.

He shared a snap of his bandaged eye and said he has had the "floaters" removed. He captioned the post: "Finally got the incredibly frustrating 'floaters' sucked out of my left eyeball."

The broadcaster was in positive spirits after his operation as he shared a shirtless photo with the electrode stickers on his chest. He joked: "Er... Was I supposed to come home with these still on?"

Phillip then shared a photo of him basking in the glorious sunshine and captioned the post: "Factor 50 on half my face or the patch mark will last for days."

The 60-year-old presenter has previously addressed his eye condition on an episode of This Morning in 2020. He said: "My retinas are not detaching, but I have debilitating eye floaters."
