ITV This Morning's Phillip Schofield brushes off 'inner struggles' after being taken aback by claims

Phillip Schofield appeared a little surprised when he was told that he appears to have 'inner struggles'. The presenter was hosting This Morning at the time alongside co-host Holly Willoughby.

During Wednesday's edition (July 6) of the ITV daytime show, the pair were joined by graphologist Tracey Trussell. She appeared live in the studio to speak to the presenting duo about her findings after taking a look at what happened when they put pen to paper as she analysed their handwriting and doodles.

While Holly, 41, was described as 'stubborn' but with an 'intelligent mind', Phillip's readings got a bit deeper. Looking at their drawings, Tracey said Holly "Flowers are quite a popular doodle and they're all about your social life, your friendships. But yours is interesting because the middle bit shows a warm heart that sometimes gets a little bit anxious, you do worry about things sometimes because you've shaded it in."

The stickman the mother-of-three drew also showed Holly is 'highly motivated and an ambitious show woman', while the pyramid revealed she wants to 'belong'. "And the petals are quite sort of... they've got spiky tips which shows that you've got a very intelligent mind," Tracey told her.

Phillip could be heard snorting beside her before nodding along as a surprised Holly replied: "Oh, does it now?" then joking: "It's the only thing that does!" Meanwhile, Phillip's doodle of a tree was a representation of himself, according to Tracy. But she also pointed out that the dad-of-two had drawn a fence around it which Tracy explained shows his protection around himself.

She also revealed that Phillip's drawing of a 'complex' maze shows that "there are inner struggles going on, inner battles, which is quite interesting," to which Phillip quipped: "I don’t know what you mean!"

The host had earlier appeared slightly worried at the thought of Tracey having a copy of his notes from his This Morning script. But by way of comparison, he also explained to viewers that he had also given her a sample of his normal handwriting.

Comparing the two examples of Phillip's handwriting, Tracey said: "The word spacing on your capital letter sample is actually quite wide and all the letters are disconnected. You've got a very bright mind, you write really quickly because you're so intelligent and you're trying to get all of the thoughts out."

Phillip was soon able to forget about it all though as he joined Holly at the Tric Awards. The pair dashed off from the studio after a quick change and headed to the Grosvenor House in London for the bash which was celebrating another year in TV and radio. And it was very much worth the trip as This Morning picked up another gong.

The popular show won in the OK! daytime category over fellow ITV show Loose Women, A Place in the Sun, and Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch. Taking to Instagram with a selfie of herself and Phillip alongside their latest silverware, Holly said: "Thank you @tricawardsuk and to you for voting… the whole @thismorning team is absolutely delighted to be the winner of best daytime show…it means the [world emoji."
