ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby pleads 'no' as show taken off air

This Morning fans fumed after it was confirmed the show will be taken off air until Friday.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to host Monday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme. The jam packed episode featured interviews with Emma Bunton and consumer advice from Alice Beer.

The hosts confirmed at the end of the show that This Morning will be off air until Friday as ITV broadcast the World Cup. Phil said: ""The World Cup is on ITV for the next few mornings so Alison and Dermot will be with you on Friday. We will see you next week."

England will kickstart their World Cup campaign against Iran today and Wales will also face off against USA. This Morning started in unusual circumstances as the show took predictions on the two games from a "psychic alpaca" named Alfie.

The alpaca predicted two defeats for the home nations but Holly and Phil were still feeling optimistic. Phil said: "Don't believe the alpaca." Holly added: "No, it's wrong."

Viewers following the show on Twitter were disappointed with the announcement at the end of the episode.

Pickle said: "Wait there’s no This Morning now?"

Sara added: "No telly all week because of the football? Put it on ITV2"

Another user commented: "They could have put it on another ITV channel."
