ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby forced to dash off camera during hot cross bun tasting

Easter treats were on test during ITV's This Morning show. However, TV host Holly Willoughby found herself in the sticky situation when tasting the delights alongside co-host Phillip Schofield. The 41-year-old morning presenter was taste testing a selection of the Easter treats available from retailers including some weird and wonderful variations of the classic spiced sweet bun - from chocolate covered to coffee-infused - and even Pizza inspired and curry themed.

However, after Alice Beer offered up the selection during the segment on the popular show, poor Holly ended up having to dash off camera after almost choking. She said at the time that she had inhaled some of the crumbs.

Turning round to cough, Holly said: "Sorry, a crumb went down my throat," as Alice said: "Off you go love," and tried to continue on with her segment which had moved on to Aldi's luxury version, reported Manchester Evening News. But the guest commented: "She's inhaled it... Do you want to blow on my recorder?" referring to the musical instrument she had been playing sporadically throughout the show before her appearance.

Phillip looked at his co-host and pal with concern before she said: "It's really nice, I inhaled a crumb," and carried on eating the treat in her hand. "Never do that," Phil commented with Alice adding: "You don't want to do that," as Holly tried to distract from her croaky voice and talk about how nice the hot cross bun was.

As they tried to discuss the bargain supermarket's product, Holly looked at the camera and said: "I'm going to have to cough," before hurrying off out of view. As she was heard coughing, she shouted: "Sorry!" as Alice joked: "Oh, bucket!"

Holly returned as quickly as she disappeared and told Phillip and Alice on the show on Wednesday, March 30: "Sorry, sorry, it was right there, I apologise," before they cracked on with the rest of the segment.

But with buns including marmite and cheese, and chilli and masala one, This Morning viewers weren't convinced. One viewer, posting on social media, said: "Chilli hot cross buns eww wtf #ThisMorning," along with a string of sick face emojis.

Another viewer commented: "I love Marmite but those Marmite buns are nasty. #ThisMorning." A third wrote: "Hot Cross Buns, you can keep them [sick face] I'll stick with Mini Eggs this Easter."
