ITV This Morning's Holly Willoughby finally explains where she has been after being missing amid 'blonde takeover'

Holly Willoughby has finally explained where she has been after going missing from This Morning.

The presenter, 40, was back hosting the ITV daytime show on Thursday after almost three weeks away.

Holly has still been seen on Dancing On Ice on a Sunday.

But she wasn't alongside Phillip Schofield on This Morning today.

She was joined by Josie Gibson who has been a hit with viewers since she first stepped into hosting duties last year.

Opening today's show, Holly cheerily said: "Hello, good morning and welcome to your Thursday's This Morning."

As she finished her sentence, Holly turned to gesture to Josie. As the pair looked at each other, Josie said: "Hello..."

"This is nice," Holly said as Josie agreed.

She then went on to quiz Holly on her absence.

"Welcome back because you've been away..."

"I have been away... It's lovely to see you," Holly said addressing the crew and viewers before telling Josie: "It's lovely to see you.

"I feel like the blondes have taken over TV for the day. Whose left us in charge?"

Holly went on to explain where she had been whisked off to in order to film her new BBC One show.

"I have been in Italy, in Northern Italy in the alps and I was doing a new TV show which is coming out... I don't know, later this year anyway, with Wim Hof."

She added: "We were doing all sorts of crazy stuff. It was freezing.

"I've had heat pads in places I didn't know existed."

The pair were then soon cracking on with the latest show.

Holly will be joined by Lee Mack as host of an entertainment reality show inspired by the teachings of Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof.

Wim Hof's Superstar Survival on BBC One will see a group of celebrities embark on an "epic adventure of self-improvement, and face a unique test of mental strength like no other".

But back to This Morning and fans are loving their new hosts.

@DavidMackayyy tweeted: "Josie and Holly!!! What an iconic duo #ThisMorning."

"#ThisMorning so glad its holly and josie. Two icons, love them both," @julierice2000 said.

@JuneEva53827633 added: "#ThisMorning How lovely Holly and Josie are this morning so pleasant and lovely presentation."
