Dermot O'Leary told Alison Hammond to 'shut up' live on This Morning as she tried to reveal and unaired moment between the pair. The duo were back fronting the ITV daytime show on Friday (April 7) for their usual end-of-the-week hosting stint.
However, Alison, 47, and Dermot, 49, had actually been at the helm of the popular programme all week as they stepped in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who are taking their usual Easter break. The pair were thought to be staying at the helm of the ITV daytime show for the next two weeks as Holly and Phillip enjoy their time off.
However, that's not the case and the pair are being replaced from Easter Monday (April 10). Craig Doyle has confirmed that he'll be back fronting the show next week alongside Josie Gibson after proving a hit with This Morning viewers. He confirmed the news in a post on his Instagram Story.
Sharing a selfie of himself and Josie in the ITV studio as well as a snap of the pair in action, with a smiling Craig resting his head on a beaming Josie's shoulder, the 52-year-old Irish TV presenter wrote: "Reunited on the This Morning sofa all next week." Former Big Brother winner Josie then reshared the post with her own followers and said: "See you soon Doyleroo."
So Alison and Dermot had a busy show up their sleeves before they finished up on This Morning for another week. "Can you believe how quick this week has flown by?" Alison asked as they opened Friday's show. Dermot was similarly surprised as he said: "It's whizzed by. I want a steward's inquiry because it can't be anything other than Tuesday."
But it was later that Dermot jokingly appeared embarrassed that his showbiz pal was set to reveal what happened when the cameras weren't rolling. Following a competition break, Alison said: "Awww that was such a lovely thing that you just said there," before turning to look at her former X Factor star co-host.
Jovially snapping back at the mum-of-one, Dermot said: "Shut up. Don't tell people what I just said. I was just being nice." But Alison teased: "Wanna know what he said?" while looking into the camera and grinning widely. "Oh, shut up everyone," Dermot then added. "He said 'I love you' and I went 'aw thanks' and that's made me all funny," new Great British Bake Off host Alison revealed, before saying she felt "all gooey inside".
Dermot, whose parents had joined him in the studio, then chimed in and said that Alison was "grassing him up for being nice", with Alison adding: "I love you too, bab, I love you too."
