ITV This Morning's Dermot O'Leary shocks viewers after claiming he's never heard of Home Bargains or B&M

It's Friday which means Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond are back on our screens presenting This Morning. The duo are known to host the ITV programme every Friday while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield lead the show during the week.

However over the last two weeks there has been a presenter shake-up as Holly and Phil take their annual break for Easter. Last week, Dermot and Alison were at the helm of the daytime show but were taken over by Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson.

Viewers were full of praise for Vernon and Josie's hosting stint, with some demanding that ITV should give them a permanent presenting slot after branding them the 'perfect pair'. But it was when Dermot and Alison returned to co-host on Friday morning (April 15) that the former X Factor presenter made a revelation that shocked viewers.

During a segment where This Morning's 'coupon queen' was sharing offers to help viewers save money on their shopping and food bills amid the cost of living crisis, Dermot admitted he had never been to Home Bargains or B&M - and had never even heard of the discount stores.

Looking at the list, Dermot asked the coupon queen to "tell us about Home Bargains, is that like a good website?". "It's a shop babes it's a shop, have you never been to Home Bargains?" responded a concerned Alison as Dermot shook his head.

Shocked by the revelation, Alison quickly told Dermot: "I need to take you out. We'll go to a Home Bargains."

But the surprise didn't end there as Dermot was asked by the coupon queen if he'd ever been to B&M to which he replied: "To a what?", and then asked Alison: "What is she saying? What's B&M."

"Oh I need to bring you back to down to earth," said Alison as Dermot reassured her, "I'm not going home and drinking champagne and caviar, I just don't have time."

This Morning viewers couldn't believe their ears, with many taking to Twitter to respond to Dermot's shocking admission. "How do I complain to Ofcom? How come Dermot doesn't know what B&M is or Home Bargains. I feel personally attacked," wrote Jay.

"Dermot O’Leary has never heard of Home Bargains or B&M. This is odd - surely he is kidding!!," said Clare.

"Coupon saver on #ThisMorning talking about Home Bargains and Dermot O’Leary replied ‘is that a good app?’ He had never heard of there or B&M?! WTF," another said.

Other viewers were then under the impression that Dermot lives a lavish lifestyle. "He has never heard of B&M Bargains or Home Bargains? Out of touch much?!," said one viewer.

"As if Dermot doesn’t know about Home Bargains or B&M? How the other half live," wrote another.

"I aspire to be as rich as Dermot where I’ve never heard of home bargains or B&M," said a third viewer.
