ITV This Morning's Dermot O'Leary issues demand as he's set to be 'replaced'

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were in disbelief as they introduced today's This Morning.

The popular presenters have taken the reins of ITV's flagship daytime programme this week while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take an Easter break. Alison and Dermot have been a hit with fans as they hosted another jam-packed week of episodes.

However, their hosting stint is set to come to an end after Friday's show as ITV confirmed Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle will front the show on Monday. Alison admitted she was surprised at the start of the final show of the week.

She said: "Can you believe how quick this week has flown by?" Dermot was similarly surprised and he jokingly demanded a steward's enquiry as he prepares to take a well earned rest.

He shot back: "It's whizzed by. I want a steward's inquiry because it can't be anything other than Tuesday"

The presenters addressed a variety of topics on Friday's programme as they tried out Subway's new Creme Egg sandwich and interviewed tribute acts of Dolly Parton, Britney Spears and Celine Dion.

Viewers following the show on Twitter have taken to Twitter to praise Alison and Dermot ahead of their break.

Lib said: "Alison and Dermot have it mastered totally. A new telly double act right there!" Marcelle agreed: "They are a fantastic blend!"
