ITV This Morning's Alison Hammond reveals major rule Big Brother rule she broke

We may know her from ITV's This Morning, but Alison Hammond rose to fame after taking part in Big Brother’s third series.

The popular Brummie entered the iconic bungalow in 2002 - aged 27 - and was in the house for just fifteen days.

Alison was the second contestant to be evicted, with Kate Lawler eventually being crowned the winner, but the now 46-year-old has managed to carve out an impressive TV career for herself following the short stint.

Alison appeared in the same series as Jade Goody and Kate Lawler, but didn't really get much time to show off the bubbly personality which has made her a star today.

Although it was lucky she even made it into the house at all as Alison had an offer from a rival show and broke a golden rule before entering, according to the Mirror.

Contestants on the show were sworn to keep their involvement a complete mystery – with the cast being unveiled on the live launch night show.

But Alison started blabbing to everyone and luckily managed to get away with it.

She said: "I told the world! Big Brother literally said whatever you do, don’t tell anyone, the only person you can tell is your mum.

"I told everyone at work, everyone at college, I told the whole world, strangers… I stood in front of the billboard, taking photos and doing a handstand up against it. And no one said anything.

"And then apparently Jade Goody actually did tell somebody and they went to the press, and then we did have to go into lockdown three days early."

Alison has previously said she is grateful she was voted off so soon.

The star told Heat magazine: "I always think, ‘What would’ve happened if I’d won Big Brother? Would my career have gone in this direction?’

"And I don’t believe it would have, because the This Morning producer who watched my best bits never watched Big Brother, but had just happened to turn on.”

Alison was made a permanent Friday host of This Morning earlier this year and co-hosts the end of week episode alongside Dermot O’Leary – a former Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter.

She has also appeared on many other shows over the years, including I'm A Celebrity..., Stars In Their Eyes, and Hell's Kitchen.

Prior to entering the Big Brother house, Alison worked as a holiday rep.
