ITV This Morning's Alison Hammond 'feels different' as she's hit by health issue

Alison Hammond explained how she's suffering from a common health issue.

Appearing alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary on ITV's This Morning, the 48-year-old presenter explained that she "didn't feel too well" ahead of the show. She shared that she was suffering from hay fever.

Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen, typically when it comes into contact with your mouth, nose, eyes and throat. Pollen is a fine powder from plants, and Alison was blaming the trees for her problems.

Introducing the ITV show, Dermot asked: "How are you feeling?" Alison replied: "Oh hay fever kicked in today."

She added: "Is anyone else at home feeling that hay fever vibe? I think it's tree pollen... apparently. So yeah, I've got a lot of hay fever going on. But we're going to get through this together."

Dermot added that it's weird how quickly the symptoms of the allergy have come upon her. She said: "Yeah it was this morning when I woke up. I felt different."

Alison explained her symptoms as she said: "I had runny eyes, you know, the nose thing. I didn't feel too well."

Symptoms of hay fever

According to the NHS website, symptoms of hay fever include:

  • sneezing and coughing
  • a runny or blocked nose
  • itchy, red or watery eyes
  • itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears
  • loss of smell
  • pain around your temples and forehead
  • headache
  • earache
  • feeling tired
