ITV This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has been backed to host the newest version of hit reality show Big Brother. The popular show is returning to our screens in 2023 on ITV2, it has been announced.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Kate Lawler, who won the show in 2002, tipped Hammond to host the show. She spoke out after the news of the return was confirmed, as reported by Birmingham Live.
Kate told the Sun newspaper: “I’d love Alison to do it. I think Alison Hammond would be an amazing person to take on the hosting duties. She’s from my series of Big Brother and she’s got charisma, she’s funny, she’s a big personality and she’s already on ITV.”

She also said: “I also think Mo Gilligan! I don’t know why but I really see him as the host. I think ITV will choose someone who’s nothing to do with Big Brother to host it. It’s a new era and it’ll make sense for someone new to host it who is nothing to do with the series.”
Natalka Znak, chief executive of Initial, Remarkable Entertainment and Znak TV, said: "Big Brother is the original and best reality format and one that I have never made before so it's a huge privilege to be making an all new version with ITV2 and ITVX. Working with Claire O'Donohoe and the talented team at Initial, Katy Manley and Cat Lynch. This is going to be epic."
