ITV This Morning: Gino D'Campo lost for words as Janet Street-Porter snaps at him after kissing question

There was chaos in the This Morning studio as chef Gino D’Acampo became, albeit very briefly, one of the main presenters on the ITV show. Gino took a pew next to host Holly Willoughby to hear what the Loose Women would be getting up to, whilst Dermot O’Leary stood back and watched.

One person who didn’t look thrilled by Gino’s appearance was Janet Street-Porter, who told him to “go back to [his] spoons”. The comment came after the 46-year-old Family Fortunes host “interrogated” Janet.

During the Tuesday, June 20 episode, Gino said: “Every time I go to Loose Women I kiss everyone except Janet. Janet has got a problem with kissing.” Janet, 76, then shouted: “Yeah, ask yourself why!”

“Were you never kissed when you were younger and a little girl?” Gino cheekily asked her, as he looked visibly shocked by her reaction. He added: “You never kissed girls or boys? Whatever you’re into.”

Janet was clearly irritated by Gino (ITV)

“What is this? Interrogation? Are you MI5 or something?” Janet quipped. Much to the audience’s amusement, Gino replied: “No we’re just having a conversation. Now that I’m the new presenter on This Morning, I’m just getting myself in some conversation with Loose Women.”

It was then that Janet told him: “Go back to your spoons!” before Loose Women host Ruth Langsford jumped in to reveal what was coming up on the show.

Earlier in the show Gino had caused more chaos when he asked Holly and Dermot whether there had been "any news" over the last month as he has been in Italy. Announcing his return to the show, the Italian said: "Everything is under control, I'm back. Any news? Anything in the last month that I should know of?" seemingly referring to the fact that This Morning has been hitting the headlines following Phillip Schofield's exit from the show and from ITV.

Dermot sat with a pen in his mouth looking slightly uncomfortable while Holly laughed while sat beside him on the famous sofa. "No news," Holly said smiling, as Gino replied: "No news, OK, good. so we can go straight into the cooking..."
