This Morning viewers were quick to remark 'this isn't going well' as a live interview suffered a few stumbling blocks. Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson found themselves being apologsied to as they fronted the ITV daytime show on Friday (April 14).
As they rounded off their week-long stint hosting the show before Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's return next week, Josie and Craig were joined live in the studio and via video link by two TikTok famous grans and their granddaughters. While Emily appeared in the studio with her grandmother, Anne, Norma appeared from her home in Nottinghamshire with her granddaughter, Jess.
Both duos have wracked up millions of followers and likes on their videos on their platform between them and were on the show to chat about their popularity on the app. But for Norma and Jess, their This Morning appearance didn't get off to a great start.

The 89-year-old ‘granfluencer’ unfortunately didn’t have her hearing aid in, so when her landline started ringing during the interview, she was left a little confused by the chaos. "It’s one of nan’s friends calling!" Jess joked before saying: "That is typical!" A member of the team managed to shut off the phone but Norma was unable to hear the questions she was being asked at the start of her interview.
"I’m having a bit of difficulty with my hearing, I’m so sorry," Norma said as Jess tried to repeat the question the hosts had asked. But her granddaughter then asked the camera crew: "Can we do it with the hearing aid? Let’s make this a bit easier." Once sorted, the interview went swimmingly and when Norma was asked how she feels about becoming a social media sensation she said: "It's overwhelming.
"I've had some wonderful people to speak to and some wonderful messages, very heart-warming. And just to talk to people, really from all over the world like that and they've sent me a message, it's just I thought 'what's happening to me, little old me'. But it's been an absolutely wonderful time!"
But taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Painful first half hour of content today. Changed channel." Another said: "Not going well is it." A third sarcastically posted: "Well this item’s going well." Others, however, were quick to show support.
@stephanie13175 siad: "Love Jess and norma #ThisMorning." @NichollsLiese commented: "Poor Norma god bless her #thismorning." @Crazier wrote: "#ThisMorning Norma is the sweetest lady," before adding in a separate tweet: "Awww Norma!! I love her!"
